With temperatures soaring into the triple digits in the Southwest, it's about the time that RV'rs will start their voyage North to more moderate temperatures. This is an excellent time to take stock of your personal property. As you are packing up the RV, think about all the items you are storing away in those compartments and everything you have inside the RV. Now, check your insurance policy and see how much coverage you have for Personal Effects. Make sure you have enough coverage to replace the items should the worst case scenario happen.
Personal Effects coverage on RV policies is NOT like homeowners insurance contents coverage. It has limitations and restrictions so make sure you you review it with your agent to make sure you understand what you have and how it would apply in the event of a claim. Oddly enough, this coverage is a tough sell to Full Timers and often they opt to purchase a basic amount of coverage to save on premiums. Most think they don't have all that much "stuff". That's why it's important to consider everything you've got stored in that RV and what it would cost to replace it.
